Tyrell Crosby visiting Giants
The Giants aren’t expected to take an offensive tackle with the second overall pick in the draft, but they could make a trade that moves them down in the order and they still have other picks to use as they try to improve their 3-13 team.
One tackle who could be in the mix for one of those later picks is Oregon’s Tyrell Crosby. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Giants will visit with Crosby on Friday.
The Angels (13-4) are still off to the best start in franchise history, but their seven-game winning streak ended in front of their second-biggest home crowd of the 21st century. The Big A was packed with 44,822 fans eager to see Ohtani, whose impressive opening month has drawn unprecedented early season attention to the Orange County club.
There have been strong indications that Miami is, indeed, looking to draft a quarterback. Baker Mayfield is said to be high on the team’s wish list, though based on recent reports he’ll be long gone before Miami picks at No. 11 overall. Lamar Jackson actually got some one-on-one time with none other than Dan Marino when he had his workout with the Dolphins recently, so perhaps he’s an option, too.
Given the fact that Miami recently inked Tannehill to a new contract, this really shouldn’t be all that surprising. Much like the situation in Jacksonville, there’s no need to rush a young quarterback into the starting lineup, even if in the long term that young man might be the future of the organization.
It barely cleared the wall, but it was enough.
Quality pitch, Odorizzi said. Same pitch I’ve gotten outs on in the game. Different result.
